Retirees Can Help Bereaved Families At Funeral Liturgies

February 23, 2017

Retirees are asked to consider volunteering to serve as lectors or altar servers for funeral liturgies in the partner parishes of Immaculate Conception, St. Rita and St. John the Evangelist. Currently, several dedicated volunteers are involved in those ministries but additional help is needed. Volunteering requires only about one hour of time and individuals are always free to decline when they have other plans or commitments. Assisting even once or twice a month will help to ensure that the parishes have all the necessary ministers to celebrate beautiful funeral liturgies for deceased parishioners. Men and women interested in volunteering for or who have questions about these ministries may contact Sister Donna Mulligan, director of pastoral ministry, at 724-628-6840 or email dmulligan@dioceseofgreensburg.org. Please consider helping bereaved families by serving as a lector or altar server at funeral services in the partner parishes.
