The partner parishes of Connellsville and Dunbar take great pride in their long traditions of dedicated and talented choirs, cantors and musicians. Each parish has a committed group of volunteers who enhance our liturgical celebrations by sharing their musical talents.
The Yough Catholic Community Children's Choir is made up of third- through sixth-graders from all four parishes. Junior and senior high school students serve the choir as cantors and leaders of song. The choir sings for liturgies in all four partner parishes throughout the school year and rehearses Saturdays at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church choir loft.
Each of the partner parishes of Immaculate Conception, St. Rita and St. John has an adult choir.
While the ability to read music is very helpful, it is not necessary for membership in a choir. New members, of all ages, are welcome. Musicians such as guitarists, flutists and pianists are also invited to participate.
Practices are scheduled individually for each parish, and according to the liturgical season. Please contact the parish office, one of the choir directors or a current choir member for further information.
